Pasticcio means, quite literally, a musical work produced by borrowing bits of themes from various sources. In keeping with its definition, this composition offers the performers a wide variety of styles while, at the same time, limiting technical demands. Because of the variances in instrumentation among band ensembles, judicious care must be taken in matters of blend and balance.
