Commissioned by Life Magazine in 1962, Aaron Copland's "Down A Country Lane" was originally written as a performance piece for solo piano. Copland did, however, create an orchestral version of this song, though, and his band transcription is taken directly from Copland's orchestration. Expose your concert band to a classic piece by one of America's greatest composers.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1900, Aaron Copland is without a doubt one of America's greatest composers. Copland wrote three ballets during his illustrious career, and "Billy The Kid" was quite probably the best of them all. Your band will grow musically from its exposure to this Quincy Hillard arrangement, and you'll get to spend your rehearsal time working on some quality music!
